We’ve been in the Cooperative Movement for almost two decades. Our founding publisher’s favorite line is thus to,
seize the day in decades.
Our dalliance started with The Co-operative Knowledgebase. Our thinking was that the best way to learn was to teach. We then moved on to The New Co-operator., a site that is still live on the internet today.
Enter the age of AI—if it’s not obvious immediately, “ChatMPC” is a cheeky play on the growing popularity of ChatGPT in 2022 and the most famous acronym for the most common type of cooperative in the Philippines, multipurpose cooperatives, i.e. MPC.
When we started publishing ChatMPC, we didn’t know exactly what we wanted to do or how we want to do it. All we knew was that the cooperative story needed a better telling.
The logo, layout and overall design of the site has gone thru a number of changes. The publication logo below was the first one. For our own remembrance, we are keeping some vestiges of the old in this page and maybe in other pages.
Before the current icon/logo, our second logo after the carabao logo was that of Zora the cat, self-claimed self-claimed spirit animal of co-ops. You can’t see it here, but you can imagine from here.

Cooperatives are autonomous and democratic organizations that aim to achieve their social, economic, and cultural needs and aspirations by making equitable contributions to the capital required, patronizing their products and services and accepting a fair share of the risks and benefits of the undertaking.
